Anthony Joran

 Anthony Joran Martial is a French professional footballer who currently plays as a forward for Manchester United of England. His parents traveled from the island of Guadeloupe in the South Caribbean Sea to mainland France, hence he is of Guadalupian ancestry. The signing of Anthony Martial to Manchester United in 2013 set a new record for the biggest amount ever paid for a teenager. He is a devoted Catholic who is observed on the field saying a prayer before each game. Many of his teammates compare his style of play to that of Thierry Henry, the great French, and Arsenal forward. His speed and technical talents enable him to succeed in both wide and up-front positions on the pitch. He is well-known for his ability to effortlessly break through rigorous offside traps and defenders. Because of his rigorous training regimen, many of his United colleagues believe he is the club's fittest player.

Anthony Martial made his professional debut for Lyon on December 6, 2012, in a Europa League Group match against Hapoel Ironi Kiryat Shmona.

He made his Ligue 1 debut against Ajaccio on February 3, 2013, when he came on as a 79th-minute substitute for Rachid Ghezzal. The game ended in a 3-1 loss for Lyon.

On June 30, 2013, he agreed to a three-year contract with AS Monaco for a cost of €5 million-plus bonuses. At the age of 17, he made his first appearance for them on November 24, 2013.

Martial scored nine goals in 36 Ligue 1 games in his second season at AS Monaco. On 4 August 2015, he scored his first UEFA Champions League goal in AS Monaco's 4-0 home triumph over BSC Young Boys.

On August 26, 2015, he made his senior French team debut in a friendly against Portugal.

Manchester United signed him to a four-year contract for a record amount of £36 million on September 1, 2015. This was the largest transfer fee ever paid for a teenager at the time.

On September 12, 2015, Martial made his Old Trafford debut, scoring in a 3-1 victory over Liverpool.

On October 11, 2015, he made his debut appearance for the French national team in a friendly against Denmark. In the team's 2-1 triumph, Martial's assist assisted Olivier Giroud in scoring the team's first goal.

With 11 goals in the league and 17 goals overall, Martial finished the 2015-2016 season as United's top scorer in both league and total competitions.

His outstanding achievements for United this season have won him a spot in France's Euro 2016 squad.

Under new boss Jose Mourinho, Anthony Martial had a rocky start to the 2016-2017 season. Problems in his personal life were cited as the cause of his poor performance.

Martial won the Golden Boy Award for the best under-21 footballer in Europe in 2015.

The 'PFA Fan's Player of the Month for September 2015 was Martial's first award at United. He received the 'Effort of the Month' title only a few days later for his amazing goal against Liverpool. He was also named 'Player of the Month for September, making him the third-youngest player in Premier League history.

At Manchester United, he won the FA Cup, the English League Cup, the Europa League, and the English Super Cup.

Personal History and Legacy

With his ex-wife Samantha Helena Jacqueline, Martial has two daughters. Since the end of 2016, he has been dating Melanie De Cruz, a reality TV star.
